Dolphin Research Voyage 2024

From AUD $895.00
  • Duration: 2 Days (approx.)
  • Location: Port Adelaide, South Australia
  • Product code: PQYLGQ

All hands-on deck for an adventure and informative voyage with guest conservationist and scientist Dr Mike Bossley, who will give an insight into the life of dolphins.

This voyage will take place in Gulf St Vincent, but the exact route will depend on weather conditions by mother nature at the time. It will involve learning about dolphin biology and conservation, with particular emphasis on dolphins in these pristine waters of Gulf St Vincent.

During the voyage, all are welcome to keep a look out for dolphins to observe and photograph them, and record information about the species involved, where they are sighted and what behaviours they are engaged in. If you are fascinated by these happy mammals of the sea, this is the perfect voyage to hear what research and experience Dr Mike Bossley has accumulated over the last 50 years.

We will anchor overnight so people can enjoy a Captain’s dinner in the ship’s saloon and have a good rest in protected waters. If the weather is on our side, there may be an opportunity for a swim during the weekend voyage.

While this voyage focused on dolphins, everyone is welcome get hands on with all the activities to sail the One and All. No sailing experience is necessary as we will teach you the “ropes”. To keep the vessel sailing, each person joins a watch (teams). The Watch Leaders and Crew Members will guide with the following: helming, sail setting, climb the rigging or lounge in the bow nest of the ship.

Alternately, if activities are not your desire, sit back and relax as the water flows past, spot for dolphins and watch the birds soar high above the masts. These small group voyages are designed for the adventurer at heart!
